Sales Team

John Hilton - Commercial Manager

John Hilton joined Bullough Fasteners as an apprentice back in 1976 at 16 years of age. In 1985 he left to join then competitor Thomas Smith & Sons as Sales Manager. In this time, John was an integral part in implementing change, enabling the company to progress ever further.

Thomas Smith & Sons and Bullough Fasteners were merged in 1998 to form Smith Bullough. John remained as Sales Manager, and then went on to become Commercial Manager of Garton Limited in 2002.

Throughout 30 years in the fastener industry, John has acquired a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience which is one reason behind the fact that Smith Bullough are increasing sales in a largely declining market.

John is married to April and has 2 children.

John Parton - Sales Manager

John Parton joined Bullough Fasteners in 1971, working in the Warehouse office. He then moved into the Sales Department in 1978 before being promoted to Sales Manager in 1985.

After the merger of Thomas Smith & Sons and Bullough Fasteners in 1998, John worked tirelessly on developing key accounts and also attaining new business for the Company.

With nearly 40 years experience, John has attained vast product knowledge, especially in key sectors such as the railway and leisure industries.

Outside work John is married to Shirley and has 2 children. He supports Bolton Wanderers (let's move on!) and enjoys a game of poker.

Colin Miller - Sales Supervisor

Colin Miller joined Thomas Smith & Sons in 1984. Colin brings over 20 years of experience, as well as a vast amount of knowledge and enthusiasm to the Sales team.

Colin is a very well liked member of our team and is the key contact to a lot of Smith Bullough customers. He also handles the purchasing of products, and works hard to ensure he can pass the best price possible onto our customers.

Outside work Colin is married to Pam and has a son named Jack. He is a Liverpool supporter and enjoys running and keeping himself fit. He also has a caravan in Wales, where he spends many weekends in Spring and Summer.
